Frequently Asked Questions

How do I order an Artwork?

Use any of the links on the website and email Margaret who can then sort all the details with you.

What sorts of photos can I use?

Your FotoMasters product can be made from digital photos, printed photos, slides, negatives, old photos (some restoration is built into the process)

Do I need to come to the Studio?

If you have digital photos you can choose whether you want to make an appointment  to come to the studio to meet with Margaret to discuss your ideas about your order or to send them by email or on a CD/DVD by post.  To get a postal address please email Margaret.

If you have printed photos or slides then you can either make an appointment to come to the studio to meet with Margaret to discuss your ideas about your order or you can send them by post.

We prefer that you send your photos in an overnight Express Post Bag so that they can be tracked through the postal system.

The photos should be carefully packed and marked PHOTOS DO NOT BEND before posting.  All photos posted to FotoMastsers will be returned by post in an overnight Express Post Bag at the end of the process.

What if I am located outside of Australia?

We have accepted orders from a number of people who live outside of Australia.  Please  email Margaret and she will assist you with your enquiry.

How long does the process take?

It usually takes two to three weeks from time of consultation to having your order completed, printed and framed.  At peak periods it may take up to 4 weeks however if the need is urgent or required for a specific date we will guarantee to have the work ready for you.  Our clients needs are always important to us.

Can I get an urgent job done?

Obviously we prefer to have the normal timeframes available to us so we do not have to reprioritise other clients' work, however if the need is urgent and we can accommodate the shorter timeframe then we will do our very best to accomodate urgent work requests.

Can I see my artwork before it is printed?

All artworks are emailed to you prior to printing.  If you do not have email access and you live locally Margaret asks you to come back to the studio to view the artwork on her screen.  If  you do not have email access and do not live locally then we ask that you find a friend or a relative who would be able to accept the email version on your behalf.

How do you print my artwork?

Your artwork is printed as a photograph on Kodak Endura paper which is of archival quality.  Once framed your print is guaranteed for over 100 years, and becomes a gift to following generations.

Can it be printed on different papers?

Your artwork can be printed on different surfaces, the choices are Lustre, Gloss and Metallic.

Can my artwork be changed before it is printed?

Once the artwork is designed small changes can be accommodated when the email version is sent to you for approval.

Changing one photo for a new photo will incur a small fee as the work involved is often considerable.  Major changes my require a rework of the whole piece so we do ask that you are reasonably sure that the photos you provide are the ones you will want in the final artwork.

Can I take my artwork on an Airplane?

Our artworks have been taken interstate and overseas with no known problems.  We pack your artwork for you with protective corners and bubble wrap and seal it all with tape and mark it FRAGILE.  The artworks have traveled as cabin baggage and the aircrews have been very helpful in finding an overhead locker near the passenger in which to store the artwork.

Can you send my Artwork to a country area or interstate?

We have sent quite a number of artworks to country Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.  We normally use Greyhound Buses to the nearest depot and suggest that you arrange to have it collected from their depot.  We have never had an issue using this method of delivery.

Christmas - New Year Trading Arrangements:

Each year we find that we have to set an early finish date as so many of our suppliers finish early as they are warehouses who close for an extended break over the Christmas - New Year period.
